CHRONIC ILLNESS SUPPORT
Chronic illnesses not only have an impact on physical health, but mental health as well. A chronic illness diagnosis can leave you feeling lost. You may be struggling with loss of identity if your illness impacts your ability to work or do activities you once enjoyed. Loved ones may not be supportive or understanding of what you are going through. Thinking about the future can feel hopeless and navigating the medical system can be a full time job.
Some illnesses I have experience working with:
Gastrointestinal conditions
Lyme disease
MECFS
Long-COVID (see more about group support for Long-COVID here)
Diabetes
caregivers of those with a chronic illness
I also have extensive experience working with cancer - learn more here.
Living with a chronic illness requires different supports. We cannot simply “positive attitude” our way out of a chronic illness. There are systemic barriers in place that make living with a disability harder. Together, we can work on advocating for yourself in the medical system, managing the discomfort of an unknown future, boundary setting and communication with others, managing energy levels during flares and setting goals that feel managable.
